Oct. 23, 1885: Mr. Daniel J. Harris, of Fairhaven, more familiarly know as Dan Harris, was married on Saturday last, the 17th inst., to Miss Bertha L. Wasmar, sister of Mrs. Schering, of Fairhaven; Rev. B. K. McElmon officiating. 40

Nov. 27, 1885: Dan. Harris, of Fairhaven, has "braced up" considerably since his marriage. 41

Jan. 22, 1886: Petitionn of D. J. Harris et al was granted, viz: Extending county road down McKenzie avenue, and authorizing supervisor to construct a bridge across Harris creek 12 feet wide from funds of district. 42

Jan. 22, 1886: Prosecuting attonrey was directed to institute suit against D. J. Harris at this March term of court, to correct the description of the land deeded by said Harris to the county at "Graveyard Point." 43

Apr. 30, 1886: Dan Harris of Fairhaven has bought a fine Jersey cow. 44

May 14, 1886: A team belonging to Dan Harris of Fairhaven, were blinded mysteriously last week. They stagger about in a pitiful condition. 45

Dec. 10, 1886: After all the Fairhaven townsite proprietor, Dan Harris, is more enterprising than any other on Bellingham Bay. He proposes to donate and have surveyed for a cemetery ten acres of land near that place. He also offers water front and donations of land to any railroad desiring a terminus on Bellingham Bay. 46

Feb. 11, 1887: Dan Harris of Fairhaven, has gone to San Francisco to confer with railroad magnates. Dan's liberal offer will build a city at Fairhaven. 47

Mar. 25, 1887: The Los Angeles Directory, of recent date, has the following: Daniel J. Harris, one of Washington Territory's most "solid" citizens, living at Fairhaven, in the Bellingham Bay district, where he holds large landed interests, has decided to make Los Angeles the Mecca of his winter pilgrimage, and has purchased a handsome home with delightful grounds on Gerard street, near the home of J. E. Hunsicker of the Directory. Mr. Harris has enthusiastic faith in the sure and rapid progress of his northern home, but he believes Los Angeles is just the place to "winter" at. He says he is sure to enjoy one paradise at least by a residence here. 48

Jun. 10, 1887: D. J. Harris and wife, of Fairhaven, have returned from Los Angeles. 49

This is considerable short of the necessary amount but we believe by proper exertion the $50,000 can be raised. 50

Nov. 9, 1887: Mr. D. J. Harris and wife, of Fairhaven, left this afternoon for Los Angelos, California, where they will spend the winter. 51

Nov. 11, 1887: Dan Harris and wife, of Fairhaven, have gone to Los Angeles for the winter. 52
